This info. was offered by Junichi Miyazawa. Thank you very much. The Gould Festival was held in 1992, he came on the stage. (Sep.06.1998) The performer was born in 1961 in the Netherlands and this recording was recorded in Nijmegen in 1991. No sooner did I listen to this performance, it takes me to a world of dream. Each variation has a moderate tempo indeed and it echoes in the audiences' body and soul. In respect of the confortability, this is one of those you might like to get. "Last night I listened to Tjako's recording of the Goldberg Variations. I was very pleased and impressed. I was sent the CD by taking his quiz on his home page. I thought, well a free CD, he must be just a mediocre musician if he has to give away his own CD. (Sorry, Tjako , that's how sceptical I always am!) As a Bach lover myself I recognize in Tjako a love of Bach, and a love of the piano. He performs very convincingly. It's as if his mind, his hands, and his ear, all love the music he has chosen. The only other recording I have heard is Gould's, and so with all due respect to Mr. Gould, I didn't really know what it should sound like. If this is what the variations were intended to sound like, then hat's off to you Tjako . This recording is enough to make a Bach lover out of anybody! Have a musical day, Karen "

"I would have to agree on that quality of Tjako's performance after also listening to his Bach Goldbergs CD. I like his tone and some of his technical work in the faster more intricate variations is definitely in my ears comparable to that of Gould's. I also made many friends who are pianists listen to his CD and even the most sceptical and difficult ones enjoyed the CD and had very little criticism!"

Gisteren leverde onze postvrouwe Teresa het aangetekende pakketje af.
Dat was razendsnel en kwam lekker op tijd want het is hier hondenweer
en iedereen loopt wat rond te niezen.
Ik ben spoorslags naar het sousterrain gegaan waar ik alle ruimte heb
en daar intens genoten van je langverwachte en beeldschone pianospel.
Het is 'mijn' derde versie maar het was of ik de Goldbergvariaties voor de
eerste keer hoorde.
Het langzame begin met de Aria - die je naar mijn helemaal persoonlijke
smaak veel intenser speelt dan in de versies die ik heb - deed me goed.
Vandaag heb ik voor het eerst ook je lezing met voorbeelden twee keer gehoord.
Dat is werkelijk beeldschoon, Tjako."

Zijn uitvoering van Frans Liszt in “Les jeux d’eau à la Villa d’Este” was eveneens van zeer grote klasse. Het leek of de witte en zwarte toetsen naar zijn vingers toekwamen om aangeraakt te willen worden in een waterval van muziek. Schitterend!!"
