    Type: Jazz and Poetry - The Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival 2010 Promises Big Artists in a Big Festival
    Save the dates of May 27th through 30th, 2010, as this will be the next occasion of the jazz festival on Bonaire.  A variety of musical styles will be presented with bands from Brazil, Cuba, the United States, and The Netherlands in different venues around Bonaire as these internationally known jazz musicians mingle with the best musical talent Bonaire has to offer in this sixth year of the annual event.
    As in past years, the festival will kick off at the beautiful and romantic location of Fort Oranje on May 27 with an evening of Jazz and Poetry. Then, on May 28th and 29th, the two main concerts will take place at the Tipsy Seagull at the Plaza Resort. This year’s top attraction will be the world renowned trumpeter, Arturo Sandoval, performing with his seven-piece band. Arturo is originally from Cuba, but now lives in the USA. Also performing will be Manny Moreira from Brazil, BEKU from the United States, Joke Bruijs with Frits Landesberg from The Netherlands, and Henk van Twillert with Tjako van Schie, also from The Netherlands. These performers will be joined by Bonaire’s best local musicians: the Cabaco Trio, the Silver Bullet Steelband, the New Generation Dancers, and Kaña Brabu, offering a combination of varying styles of jazz, all with their own character. For fans who just cannot get enough, jam sessions with many of the musicians will be held at Sense, just across the street from Plaza, starting at 11:30 PM on Friday and Saturday.

  Op zaterdag 19 juni zal in de gereformeerde kerk aan de Van Heutszsingel in Coevorden een bijzonder concert plaatsvinden, waaraan vier heel verschillende koren hun medewerking zullen verlenen. Het concert begint om 20.00 uur. Naast het Coevorder Mannenkoor, dat in Coevorden en omgeving een echte publiekstrekker is, zullen tijdens dit zomerconcert nog drie andere koren optreden. Alle vier staan ze onder onder leiding van dezelfde dirigent, Wim van Lenthe uit Dalfsen. Daarmee is de grootste overeenkomst wel genoemd, want elk van deze koren heeft zijn eigen repertoire, stijl en geluid. Zo produceert een vrouwenkoor als Quodlibet uit Vilsteren, dat bestaat uit 22 zangeressen, een heel ander geluid dan het gemengd koor Con Amore uit Lemelerveld, dat 60 leden telt. En Multiple Voice uit Dalfsen, een projectkoor dat bestaat uit 35 leden, zingt werken van Poulenc en Britten, terwijl het Coevorder mannenkoor juist fragmenten van grote opera’s van Verdi en Mozart laat horen. Kortom, een prachtige avond koorzang met een boeiend en zeer afwisselend programma. De koren worden aan de piano begeleid door de bekende concertpianist Tjako van Schie. Ook zal sopraan Yvonne Boerdam haar medewerking verlenen aan dit zomerconcert. De entreeprijs bedraagt slechts 5 euro.

  De Stem

  Het was april 2011, Alkmaar. Een gezamenlijke kennis bracht hen samen. Zangeres/actrice Jette van der Meij (1954) en pianist/componist Tjako van Schie (1961). Gewoon kijken wat er kan, wat er mogelijk is, of de ‘klik’ er is. Beiden zoeken naar nieuwe muzikale wegen, naar een nieuwe vorm en een nieuwe inhoud. Jette’s stem en Tjako’s pianoklanken, Jette’s teksten en Tjako’s componisteninspiratie.
  
  Al tijdens die eerste ontmoeting bleek er een hevig gloeiend muzikaal vonkje over te springen. En bleek dat dit wel eens iets unieks zou kunnen worden. Beiden staan er zo in, dat ze samen gewoon mooie en vernieuwende muziek willen maken, dat ze geen platgetreden paden willen bewandelen. Er bleek een rode draad, nee, niet één, maar twee (of meer?). Het oude achter je laten is de ene draad. Het moment nu, de stem  nu, de klank nu, het leven nu, onthechting, verstilling, het hart, dat is de andere.
  
  Woorden, teksten, muziek, een vleugje theater, stiltes, verstilling, innerlijke werelden, hoe uit je ze? Soms is het lastig te zoeken naar betekenis, maar Jette en Tjako vonden iets. Ze gaven er vorm aan via een uitgebreide en intensieve zoektocht langs vele mogelijkheden. Zo ontstond “De Stem”. Het programma neemt het publiek mee, langs vergane vergleden verledens, langs randen van diepe emoties, luchtige levenslust, richting een nabije horizon van nieuwe luister, nieuwe klanken, nieuwe woorden, nieuwe stiltes.
  
  Schubert zei ooit: “The moment is supreme”, en “When I wished to sing of love, it turned to sorrow. And when I wished to sing of sorrow, it was transformed for me into love.” Het programma van Jette en Tjako sluit daarop naadloos aan: hun gezamenlijke muzikale stem vertolkt die transformaties, momenten, en de ultieme expressies in het menselijk bestaan. Jette en Tjako zeggen daarbovenop dus eenvoudigweg: “Lekker samen muziek maken”.

  Zondagavond 29 april om 20.30 organiseert pianozaak Het Klavier in Vorden een mooi en feestelijk concert aan de vooravond van koninginnedag.  Saxofonist Henk van Twillert en pianist Tjako van Schie vormen al 25 jaar een duo en ter gelegenheid van deze langdurige samenwerking is een CD box uitgekomen ‘A Bag of Music’ met muziek uit alle landen die ze ooit bezochten, waarop muziek uit diverse stijlen te horen is: klassiek, wereldmuziek, fado, jazzy muziek, eigen composities, Caribische muziek en nog veel meer! Voor het ‘konininginneavondconcert' wordt een keuze gemaakt uit dit veelzijdige repertoire. De avond krijgt daardoor een bont en feestelijk karakter dat zich prima leent voor een ‘happy’ avond uit bij Het Klavier, voordat de vlag uit kan op Koninginnedag. Bovendien gaan beide musici speciaal voor deze gelegenheid Rita (zang) begeleiden bij een paar nummers waarbij de saxofoon een prominente rol speelt. Henk van Twillert is hoofd docent saxofoon aan de Superior School of Music, Porto, Portugal na 25 jaar docentschap aan het Amsterdams Conservatorium. Hij combineert zijn liefde voor muziek en lesgeven door het geven van concerten workshops en masterclasses over de hele wereld. Tjako van Schie speelde als solist in Europa, China en Canada. Daarnaast is hij componist, arrangeur en docent aan het conservatorium te Amsterdam en gastdocent aan de Superior School of Music, Porto, Portugal. Twee fantastische musici die al jarenlang (samen)op hoog niveau muziek maken. Omdat dit jubileum natuurlijk gevierd moet worden en het ook nog eens ‘koninginneavond’ is, is de entree eenmalig slechts €10,- voor volwassenen en voor jeugd tot 16 jaar €7,50

  Jette van der Meij en Tjako van Schie bij Het Klavier Een boordevolle zaal, een mooie voorstelling en een staande ovatie na afloop, waren maandag 29 april de ingrediënten voor een zeer geslaagd Koninginneavondconcert bij Het Klavier in Vorden. Naast haar rol als Laura in de succesvolle soap GTST, is Jette van der Meij een ware theaterdiva. Voor velen is dit een onbekende kant van de bekende actrice, dus de verrassing was groot toen bleek dat zij moeiteloos en professioneel jazz ballads, Argentijnse tango en Duitse chansons voor het voetlicht bracht. Samen met pianist Tjako van Schie vertolkte zij prachtige verhalen en liederen van o.a. Toon Tellegen, Stefan Sulke en Abbey Lincoln . Aan de hand daarvan vertelde Jette het verhaal van innerlijke bevrijding, het vinden van een nieuwe stem en het loslaten van ‘ouwe troep’. Met een lichte touch en een serieuze ondertoon viert zij in deze voorstelling het leven, de stilte, de bron van waaruit alles geboren wordt en het vrouw-zijn. In de voorbereiding van het programma zijn ook teksten en muziek van eigen hand toegevoegd waardoor Jette en Tjako ook een echt duo vormen. De voorstelling had weliswaar geen pauze maar na afloop was het nog lang gezellig bij Het Klavier. Jette mengde zich onbevangen samen met Tjako tussen het publiek om na te praten over de voorstelling. ‘Wat ben je een mooie vrouw! Veel jonger als in GTST!’ zei een dame enthousiast. ‘Ja, maar daar speel ik een ról…!’ antwoordde Jette lachend. Het was, zoals iemand uit het publiek opmerkte: ‘opnieuw een avond om trots op te zijn’.

Door de jaren hen is er een sterke band ontstaan tussen violist Christiaan Bor en de academie. Tijdens de masterclass zullen er ook workshops gegeven worden door Katerina Taruchaladze en Adriaan Stoet, viooldocent en oprichter van de Zwolse Vioolacademie. De masterclass wordt afgesloten met een presentatieconcert om 15.30 uur in de Statenzaal naast de bibliotheek in de Diezerstraat. • In de maand augustus 2019 was er elke zaterdagavond een luchtig maar inspirerend avondje muziek met een praatje gepland: "RondoM De Piano".
  
  Hier gaf pianist Tjako van Schie dan een "thematisch" causerie-concert, waarbij hij ook aan de hand van gespeelde voorbeelden uitgebreid vertelde over de muziek.
  Een snuifje educatie en muziekuitvoering gingen dan dus hand in hand.
